So, after lots of encouragement from friends, family and other suppliers in the wedding and cakey world (and after a gin), I thought I would bite the bullet and start a blog. So here goes…
Firstly, a big hello to anyone reading this. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to see what is going on in my cake crazy world.
Secondly, a huge Thank You to all my customers (new, old and future) for your ongoing love and support for both myself and my ever growing business. Without you guys none of this would be possible.
So, who am I? A self proclaimed foodie and lover of all things creative. From a young age I watched my Nanny create stunning wedding cakes, helping her mix batches of fruit cake mix in giant flower pots (never been used for gardening obviously) with a wooden spoon as tall as me. Creaming butter and sugar by hand for a 14″ cake was not an easy task, but she did it with ease.
Skip forward a fair few years, and even throughout my jobs in sales and finance, I always dabbled in cake making for friends and family. When it came time to plan my own wedding, I had so many ideas and knew that only I could create the design in my head exactly as I wanted it. And when I was finished, I just knew that this was what I wanted to do- to give other people their dream wedding cake.
When I fell pregnant I decided to get the ball rolling; I got my diplomas from cake school and spent all of my spare time caking and baking. I was determined to make my dream a reality, and so the day after I started maternity leave, I started Chelsea Buns.
That was two years ago. Since then the business has grown so much, I’m busier than ever, have been featured in magazines and top wedding blogs like Rock My Wedding, and am currently waiting for the Kent Wedding Awards ceremony where I am a finalist. The competition is so tough, but to win would be the most amazing way to top off an incredible two years- fingers crossed!
So that’s a bit about me and a bit about Buns! Thank you for taking the time to read this and stay tuned for some more regular blog posts about what’s new; what I’m making, what I love and what else I’m up to.
